Pepo La Tumaini Jangwani means the Wind of Hope in the Desert. You can find us in the Northeastern region of Kenya. Since 1994, our work has led to tangible and life-changing outcomes, supporting over 100,000 marginalised people in Isiolo to transform their lives and uplift their communities. We have witnessed increased qualifications and skills, improved life chances, and better mental health and well-being for both children and adults. Welcoming new partners in health with Egmont Trust

Welcoming new partners in health with Egmont Trust, supporting us to deliver our community health outreach programmes this year. Our inclusive health outreach approach tackles stigma and discrimination by caring for those who are sick and engaging in challenging debates about harmful cultural norms. Our efforts have resulted in reductions in domestic violence, sexual abuse, and a heightened awareness of HIV. We build community leadership by training beneficiaries to become health volunteers and we nurture self-help groups for social and economic empowerment. In this way, Pepo La Tumaini is a centre for peace and preparedness and a symbol of hope for those whose circumstances deny them a second chance.

We are a unique, locally led, community-based organization with a deep commitment to providing support, healing, and empowerment to children and families whose lives have been profoundly affected by HIV.

Our nursery and lower primary school offer a day schooling option for local children from the surrounding slum areas between the ages of 3 - 10 years old. These children come from single-mother households suffering from extreme economic poverty. They are responsible for the care of their younger siblings, acting as the heads of their families, while their mothers look for work.

Our unique rehabilitative boarding school programm

Our unique rehabilitative boarding school programme caters for children at risk of abuse, neglect, and abandonment between the ages of 10-18 years old. We use a mother and youth care network of previous school mothers and former pupils to identify vulnerable families and children heading households who are eligible for our school.

Currently without a sufficient accommodation facility, we are limited to working with our own pupils at Tumaini Senior School and youth groups from within Isiolo. Having seen the benefits of diversification for the pupils at our school, we recognise the increased potential for making change possible for youngsters when there are different levels of experiences and a wider range of abilities. After completing our last KCPE examination for 22

After completing our last KCPE examination for 22 candidates in class 8 we have been able to sponsor 8 pupils through to secondary school. We achieved our highest mean score at 278/500 in the history of our school and a total average KCPE score of 252 with 5 pupils achieving over 300 marks, highest mark being 348. Our 8 day scholarship pupils are attending secondary school in Isiolo while staying with us at camp and continuing to develop their vocational training skills at our trade centre.
