Pepo La Tumaini

How We Measure

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Tumaini is a safe and stable workplace providing the benchmark regionally as a ‘quality employer’/great place to work, retaining the ‘family’ feel while giving a professional, high-quality service with continuity of care.

3 Annual Target Indicators

How We Measure

We measure the number of youth recommendations at a strategic level by their contribution to our strategic plan and influence and participation in monitoring and evaluation. We also measure the number of advocacy interventions championed by the youth and the number of young people taking on leadership positions within the organisation and at the community level. We measure diversity among the youth representing different communities and cultures.

All those living in Isiolo who are underserved by the current health system can access primary healthcare and relevant health programmes for them and their families. Once accessed, these marginalised groups can apply for and demand future and continuous care from the government.

3 Annual Target Indicators

How We Measure

We have regular quarterly meetings with our Community Health Workers and Home-Based Carers to evaluate the different activities, including their targets and achievements. We visit target areas and communities to assess the impact of the outreach initiatives and measure the progress around issues relating to sexual health and cultural malpractices. We meet with Elders to collect feedback on their areas’ health outreach engagement activities.

Young, unemployed, out-of-school youth in Isiolo have their place to plan a different future together, learn a new skill and begin earning an income.

3 Annual Target Indicators

How We Measure

We meet regularly with the young people to track the entrepreneurship projects and employment activities they are engaged in as a result of their training and partnership with us. We select leaders among the young people to track the progress of alumni and collect feedback from our wide network of stakeholders in Isiolo. We will measure changes in our pupil’s self-esteem, behaviour and quality of participation in the programme and collect testimonials using digital media.

Our Alumni

We are proud of our continuing relationship with our alumni, who send us news of their progress, share their achievements, and contribute to our school. Since the inception of Tumaini Senior School, we have worked with over 2000 vulnerable children, many of whom return to us during their time off or drop back to us when things don’t work out. As part of building the sustainability of our organisation, we continue to provide direct mentorship to 5% of our alumni.
