Pepo La Tumaini Vodeos

In partnership with Segal Family Foundation

The Wind of Hope in the Desert works with local youth in Isiolo to provide sexual and reproductive health education to vulnerable communities both urban and rural. The youth peer provider programme believes that the youth are best equipped to reach other young people between the ages of 15 and 25.

Wind of Hope in the Desert

Videos about Pepo La Tumaini (Wind of Hope in the Desert) in Isiolo, Northern Kenya. PEPO LA TUMAINI JANGWANI is the most successful and enduring HIV/AIDS initiative in the Isiolo area serving over 7,000 families. Since 1994, the Pepo initiative has dramatically expanded to address the many social and economic problems arising from the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Pepo focuses on restoring dignity through Expressive Arts and Peace Building and empowering vulnerable youth through life skills education and vocational training. It is the only humanitarian initiative in Isiolo to offer holistic community care to families living in extreme poverty, affected by stigma and discrimination, including semi-nomadic pastoralist communities.
